The Powerless Prayer Team (A Drama)

🔹 INTRODUCTION

This story tells about a group of people in a community who called themselves a prayer team. 

They gathered almost every night to pray loudly and disturb the peace of the environment.

Their voices could be heard from far away as they shouted and spoke in what they believed were powerful prayers. 

However, many people around them believed their prayers were empty because their lives did not reflect what they were praying about.

In our world today, many people claim to be Christians, but they are not ready to live the life that true Christianity requires. 

Being a Christian is not just about attending church or making loud prayers. 

To be a true Christian, one must genuinely accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. 

A believer must also be baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit. 

Above all, a Christian must live a life of holiness, humility, and obedience to God.

Unfortunately, some people preach these important truths but fail to practice them in their daily lives. 

They appear religious in public, but their actions show otherwise. 

However, one thing is certain: Jehovah God Almighty knows those who truly belong to Him.

The Story

There was a small church located along a quiet road, not very close to the main part of the community. 

Inside this church was a group known as the “prayer force.” 

They often organized night prayer meetings where they would pray loudly for hours.

Not far from this church was another large church. This second church was preparing for a big monthly crossover vigil program. 

Many guests, ministers, and church members were expected to attend. 

To make the event lively and memorable, the organizers decided to include a powerful drama presentation that would teach spiritual lessons.

Several members of the church were chosen to act in the drama. Each person was given a specific role. 

One of the actors was assigned the role of the devil. 

To make the drama realistic, he had a special costume that included a dark outfit, a frightening mask with horns, and a long beard.

On the night of the program, the young man decided to dress up in the devil’s costume before leaving his house. 

After putting on the mask, horns, and costume, he began walking toward the church where the program was going to take place.

However, before reaching the venue, he had to pass by the small church where the prayer team was holding their night prayer meeting.

Inside that church, the prayer force members were already praying very loudly. 

Some were shouting, some were speaking in tongues, and others were aggressively “binding the devil and his agents.” 

From the outside, it sounded as if a powerful spiritual battle was taking place inside the building.

Just as the young man dressed as the devil reached the gate of the church, something unexpected happened. Suddenly, heavy rain began to fall.

The rain was so sudden and strong that the young man quickly looked for a place to hide so that his costume would not be soaked. 

The nearest shelter was the prayer hall where the prayer team was gathered.

Without thinking much, he ran inside the church building to escape the rain.

At that exact moment, the prayer team members opened their eyes and saw a frightening figure standing at the entrance of the hall. 

The horns, the mask, the beard, and the dark costume made the young man look exactly like the devil.

Immediately, panic broke out.

The same people who had been shouting and boldly commanding the devil to leave suddenly became terrified. 

They screamed and ran in different directions as if a roaring lion was chasing them.

Some jumped through the windows.

Some broke the doors while trying to escape.

Others climbed over the fence in fear.

A few people even fell on the ground, shaking and begging the “devil” to forgive them for joining others to bind him during the prayers.

The young man wearing the costume was completely confused. He could not understand why everyone was running away from him. 

At first, he even felt like running along with them because the whole situation was becoming chaotic.

But when he moved closer to the people lying on the ground begging for mercy, the fear among them became even worse. 

Some screamed louder and crawled away in terror.

When the fake prayer team saw the mask and all ran away

Suddenly, the young man remembered something.

He was still wearing the devil’s mask.

Quickly, he removed the mask from his face.

The moment the people saw his real face and recognized him as someone from the neighboring church, the panic slowly disappeared. 

Everyone realized that the “devil” they had been running from was just a man wearing a costume for a drama presentation.

By this time, however, the damage had already been done.

Some of the prayer team members had already ran to the nearby church.

Others even ran into the community, shouting that the devil had appeared physically in their church and chased them away during their prayer meeting.

THE LESSON

This story teaches a powerful lesson. Many people claim to have great spiritual power.

But when they face even the smallest challenge, fear takes over their hearts. 

True faith is not only proven by loud prayers but by genuine courage, conviction, and a life that truly follows God.
