Funny Things That Happen In Church
The story began when a comic storyteller stood before an audience and started sharing humorous experiences.
He began by talking about some funny situations that sometimes occur in churches during prayer or deliverance sessions.
He smiled and asked the audience a question:
“Why is it that during deliverance services, some pastors push people down and expect us to believe that the people fell down because of the Holy Spirit?”
The audience laughed immediately because many of them understood what he meant.
He then shared another experience that made the story even more interesting.
According to him, he once attended a church program where many important people were present.
There were rich men and women, respected personalities, well-known individuals, and other members of society who were considered very influential.
During the service, the pastor began conducting a deliverance session. Surprisingly, the pastor did not touch anyone.
Yet, suddenly people began to fall down, roll on the ground, and shout loudly as if they were under strong spiritual influence.
The storyteller said that he and many other church members immediately believed that the Holy Spirit had taken control of the service.
However, something later caught his attention.
He noticed that only the regular church members were falling down during the deliverance session.

Most of them were wearing simple clothes or casual outfits.
But among the rich people, celebrities, and well-dressed personalities, none of them fell down.
This observation made him very curious.
He then jokingly asked the audience:
“Does the Holy Spirit respect rich people so much that He refuses to allow them to fall down during deliverance?”
The audience burst into laughter again because of the funny way he presented the situation.
The Story of Precious And The Name “Agwaojior”
After entertaining the audience with church jokes, the storyteller moved to another funny experience from his secondary school days.
Bad character can destroy trust, as seen in An Unknown Friend (A Mysterious Story About Trust and Betrayal).
He explained that during his time in boarding school, there was a student whose name was Precious.
Precious was a friendly student, but something happened one day that changed the way people called him forever.
During one of their Igbo language classes, the teacher asked the students a question.
The question required them to give the correct Igbo word for something the teacher mentioned.
While many students were thinking about the answer, Precious quickly raised his hand and responded confidently.
Unfortunately, the answer he gave was completely wrong.
Instead of saying the correct word, he mistakenly said “Agwaojior.”
Immediately the entire class burst into laughter. The teacher also laughed because the word he mentioned did not match the question at all.
From that moment, his classmates began calling him Agwaojior as a joke.
Precious Loved the Name at First
At the beginning, Precious did not understand the meaning of the word because he did not know much about the Igbo language.
Since he thought the name sounded interesting, he did not feel offended when people called him that name.
In fact, he began answering the name happily.
Whenever someone called out “Agwaojior!”, Precious would quickly respond.
As time passed, the name became very popular in the school.
Students in other classes began hearing the name and started using it too.
Soon, almost everyone in the school community knew Precious by the nickname Agwaojior.
Even teachers, school staff, and the principal began using the name.
Gradually, his real name Precious started disappearing from people’s memory. Many students forgot that his original name was Precious.
The Day Precious Discovered the Meaning
Everything changed one day when Precious finally discovered the meaning of the word Agwaojior.
A student who understood Igbo explained to him that the word actually meant “bad character.”
Precious became shocked and embarrassed.
He could not believe that for so many years he had been proudly answering a name that meant bad character.
Immediately, he decided that he would no longer accept the name.
He started informing everyone that they should stop calling him Agwaojior.
The Problem of Changing a Popular Name
Unfortunately for Precious, stopping the name was not easy.
The nickname had already become part of school culture.
Some students tried to stop using the name, but many others continued to use it out of habit.
Sometimes students called him Agwaojior by mistake, and without thinking, Precious would respond immediately.
When he realized what had happened, he would become angry with himself.
Later, he decided on another strategy.
He began ignoring anyone who called him Agwaojior. He pretended not to hear the name at all.
Slowly, a few students started calling him Precious again.
But the name Agwaojior had already spread too far.
An Incident With The Police
One day, a serious incident occurred in the school which involved the police.
Some students were suspected of being involved in a problem, and the police came to investigate.
The victims were asked to identify those who were involved.
While the investigation was going on, one of the victims wanted to mention the name of another suspect.

By mistake, he mentioned the name “Agwaojior.”
At that moment, something surprising happened.
Precious, who was peacefully sleeping inside a nearby hostel, suddenly jumped out of the building and ran toward the investigation scene.
He shouted angrily:
“Why are you mentioning my name there? Are you stupid? Am I one of the victims?”
Everyone present looked at him in surprise.
The victim quickly replied, “No.”
The principal then asked Precious, “Which of your names did he mention?”
Precious replied, “Agwaojior.”
The form master asked him another question:
“Is your name Agwaojior?”
Precious responded immediately:
“Is there anyone else in this school who answers that name apart from me? I cannot stay here and allow people to put me in trouble with my name!”
The Final Joke
The principal then smiled and said something that made everyone laugh.
He said:
“You were the one who told everyone to stop calling you Agwaojior. But today you are claiming the name again. That means you still love the name.”
Then the principal added jokingly:
“For this reason, everyone may continue calling you Agwaojior.”
Immediately, the entire place exploded with laughter.
MORAL LESSONS
This funny story teaches some important lessons:
Be careful about the names you accept from people.
Sometimes a small mistake can create a nickname that lasts for many years.
Once a habit spreads among many people, it can be very difficult to change it.
Always try to understand the meaning of words before accepting them.
